Home World: M6-117
Type: Alien
History: Inhabiting an almost barren and desolate planet, kept constantly hot by three suns, these creatures were nocturnal and subterranean in nature, to the point where any light source whatsoever repelled them. However, once every twenty-three years or so, the three suns would go into a total eclipse, blanketing this planet in almost complete darkness and thus allowing these murderous creatures free roam for a number of months. Overtime, they devoured almost all life on the surface and left it dead. A small colony also fell victim, leaving nothing behind but a few empty structures and escape ships.
When the Hunter Gratzner accidently passed too close to the barren world, the gravitational pull caused the freighter to crash. Most were killed, but a small handful managed to survive, including a notorious criminal murderer known simply as “Riddick.” As they struggled to survive, they uncovered the dark secret hidden just underneath the scorched dirt. To make matters worse, they arrived mere hours before the total eclipse would allow the vicious things to hunt freely. When the darkness came, so did the monsters. One-by-one they slaughtered the intruding humans, leaving just a few to fend for themselves under the ruthless protection of Riddick and his ability to see in the dark. Even with his tremendous skill and survival instincts, Riddick was only able to save two of the survivors of the crash. They managed to escape M6-117 on an old escape ship, leaving the planet of monsters behind.
