Type: Alien
History: Turning into things straight from old sci-fi movies, crop circles were simply laughed upon when they happened in the modern world, but when a series of signs began appearing all over the globe, the evidence of aliens quickly began to grow. One such circle was formed outside the Hess family's home, a massive pattern laying in the sea of corn. Shadowy figures began to be reported within the small town of Newtown, and soon, the invasion was about to start. Lights appeared in the sky over various cities, and the Hess family had little choice but to watch the events unfold until the alien creature came calling for them. They boarded up the house, but like roaches entering a home, the aliens found a way in via the attic. Inside the house now, the invaders left the family no choice but to retreat to the basement.
Not able to break through the quickly barricaded door, the hostiles moved around the back, and once again tried to find a way in. They almost got in, reaching through the metal bars of a coal chute and grabbing young Morgan. Graham and Merrill managed to pull the boy back and pack up a wall to keep the creatures out, but the future of the child now seemed grim as his asthma kicked in, and without his medicine, they had no way to heal him.
Night came and gone, and as quickly as the invaders came, they left. A terrorized world shouted in joy as the aliens fled their world, but the reasons had yet to be discovered. The family moved upstairs, but while pulling the television back into the family room, one of the left-behind aliens grabbed Morgan. Threatening to poison the child, the others seemed to be trapped, let the creature go, or kill it and risk Morgan's demise.
The mind of the ex-reverend raced as he remembered the words his wife told him. The events of the house were coming into play, unknowing to everyone, his daughter, Bo, had been setting up the arena with her strange water-glass habits. Merrill's former baseball record was the weapon that'd be used against the alien, and Morgan's asthma had his lungs sealed tight. Telling Merrill to swing away, Graham had saw the light once, and the death of the lone alien was assured. Smashing the alien with his old baseball bat that was hanging on the wall, Merrill devastated the creature. The glasses of water that surrounded the fighting pair brought down the invader, the drinking substance burning the creature to death.
