History: Long ago, an advanced alien civilization created the ultimate weapon to settle disputes. However, the beast was too devastating and bloodthirsty. It was quickly feared by its makers, sealed away, and left to be forgotten on a distant moon. Unfortunately for everyone, the moon exploded in the following years and the egg-like container landed on the Earth. When three young warriors landed in feudal Japan, they got caught up in a bloody battle for power. Lord Kakugyou used the alien metal surrounding the egg to forge nearly indestructible swords.
From a rival warlord, Hayate and Suikyou were dispatched to discover the origin of the mysterious blades and encountered a young girl who had replaced one of the fallen alien women. With a telepathic link to the other two, she aided the pair of warriors until they located Kakugyou. After he unleashed a small force against the pair of heroes, he battled Suikyou alone. When his blood fell on the egg-like object in his possession, he soon realized what it cost to summon the ultimate weapon.
He slit the throat of one of his henchmen and doused the object with it. Quickly, the beast was spawned. It tore through several more members of his legion before amassing into a towering behemoth! With the body of the warlord drained and his mind controlling it, the Makaraga focused its evil sights on the three heroes! Knowing the only way to defeat it was to use the alien Tao, Suikyou ventured outside the small hut to retrieve it, but he was quickly chased down by the marauding monster. However, while Hayate and the young girl rushed to catch up, Suikyou began hurling vases of Saki at the beast.
Surprisingly, the monster gained a taste for the alcoholic drink and began to chug it down. It then fell to the ground, passed out while its body changed colors to match the surroundings. As the other two caught up, the girl prepared to use the Tao on the creature. Just before its sound could be made, one of Kakugyou’s most loyal subjects interfered and awoke the giant. Joined by the last of the intergalactic females, the group returned to the village to set a trap. As it burst through the gates, a vast amount of explosives were pinned underneath its body and detonated, blowing the red killer to hundreds of pieces. Everyone thought the nightmare had finally ended…
But they were wrong.
As the group recovered, the pieces began to reform! The Makaraga was quickly created anew, the only difference being it was even more enraged than before. It focused on the young girl that came so close to defeating it, but Suikyou summoned his mystical powers and launched a piece of the creature’s bloody, discarded pieces toward the girl. Reaching for it, she retrieved the Tao from within it and generated the noise. The creature was stopped in its tracks and the swords, created from its meteor’s shell, disintegrated around the village and formed the coating over its shrinking body again. As a ghostly image of one of its creators appeared above it, the lethal Makaraga was imprisoned yet again.
