History: At the beginning of the twentieth century, Mr. and Mrs. Woolrich discovered and captured a live mermaid! As time went by, the creature began to show a deadly appetite and personality, driving Mrs. Woolrich to kill herself after the aquatic being impregnated her with her mind! Taken by grief and wanting to see the killer die, Mr. Woolrich watched over the mermaid in the basement of his estate. His desire for vengeance became an obsession and he began to seek out more members of the elusive race.
When he discovered a carnival sideshow that claimed to have a mermaid, he was enraged to discover it was a fake. In order to apologize to the workers, he allowed Angus and Lillian Shaw to see the real deal. Angus wanted to take the mermaid as his own and returned later that night with more men, but Mr. Woolrich interfered. Through the commotion, he suffered a heart attack.
Taking the mermaid for their own, the group of carnies set sail for the United States. During the trip, the mermaid once again began to reveal her sinister side. Reading the thoughts of Lillian, she killed a man from her past before he could do any harm to her. As the days went on, the creature also began to toy with the captain’s mind, forcing him to sail the ship into the mermaids’ territory without the others suspecting a thing!
Lillian tried to set the mermaid free, but it instead attacked one of her fellow carnies. When Lillian realized that the creature had impregnated her like it had done to Mrs. Woolrich, she sought to put an end to it. Discovering the mermaid had lost her tail and grown legs, she dropped her knife. The mermaid was restrained once again by the crew, but everything had now changed.
In a frightened frenzy, the captain revealed what the mermaid had made him do. As the night of the full moon wore on, the mermaid changed again. Turning into a nightmarish monster, she lost all beauty and revealed her true image to the mortals onboard! She began to slaughter the sailors, one by one. Gunfire had no effect on the beast as the small group of survivals fled. Soon, only Lillian remained alive after the mermaid killed Angus.
The mermaid allowed Lillian and her unborn child to live while she began to throw the remains of the crew into the sea. In a feeding frenzy, dozens of other aquatic beauties began to devour the meat. Weeks later, the ship was located with Lillian inside. She never reported the actual events and soon gave birth to a healthy baby girl that would one day grow into another member of the mermaid race.
