History: Long ago, the kingdom of Minos worshipped the bull, the most powerful of the Gods. As the empire grew, so did the peoples’ desires for a living God they could see and feel. The Queen gave herself to the Bull and was impregnated by a half-breed. For thirteen months, the beast grew inside her womb. It was then cut from her belly and presented to the people. The strength of the Minos Empire increased dramatically.
When a loyal prince was slain in the village of Thena, a terrible tax was placed on the village. Every three years, eight youths would be collected and sacrificed to the bloodthirsty beast lurking in the labyrinths underneath the capital. On the fifth sacrifice, Theo voluntarily allowed himself to be taken in order to vanquish the Minotaur and rescue his love that was taken three years prior.
Within the dark labyrinths, the band of youngsters was soon joined by Queen Raphaella, whom also wished the madness brought about by the creature’s existence be put to an end. The bull-like monstrosity slaughtered many of the group before they stumbled across a survivor living within the darkness. As the beast hunted, King Deucalion continued to plea for the release of his beloved sister.
The Minotaur killed many of Theo’s friends before he discovered that the labyrinth was connected to several subterranean vents, each seeping explosive gas into the beast’s lair. As the queen hid under the water, Theo tricked the beast into charging him. The horned behemoth crashed through a rock wall and snapped one of its mighty horns. As gas now flooded the labyrinth, the creature began to flee. Leaping onto its back, Theo was in for the ride of his life as he retrieved his amulet, which had gotten snagged on its remaining horn. When he fell from its back, the Minotaur began to charge. Theo began to drag the amulet across the rock wall, creating a spark that ignited the gas! Just as Theo reached the pool of water and dove under, the explosion engulfed the frenzied Minotaur.
When the fire cleared, Theo and Raphaella emerged from the water, but the familiar sounds of its footsteps began to ring. The Minotaur survived the blast and charged, its entire body smoldering! Spotting its severed horn amongst the rocks, Theo lifted it up and positioned himself. He speared the horn into its mouth, finally putting an end to the deadly Minotaur. The hidden shame of the Minos Empire was finally vanquished, and so too would be the kingdom in due time.
