History: Sold into slavery along with her brother by their very uncle that had taught her the dark arts, Tamal concealed her gender and plotted vengeance against those that harmed her. Using black magic, she conjured an underwater protector. It lurked in the waters around the raggedy fishing platform, picking off the owners and other slaves alike. However, when her brother was accidently killed, her wrath increased tenfold. Summoning the scorpion from the deep, it began to scale the platform and attack.
At the same time, Captain Jack Bowman’s boat returned to the platform to settle a score with Boss Harris. Getting caught in the chaos, marine biologist Skylar Shane hoped to rescue the young girl from the slavery. She helped prevent the girl from being dropped into the abyss, but the giant-sized scorpion crawled on deck again. Harris was quick to attack and drove a huge axe into its face, but the creature’s huge claws grabbed his arms and its stinger was plunged into his head. However, the damage was seemingly done and the scorpion remained unmoving afterward.
Examining the carcass, Bowman hoped to take the body back to civilization and turn a huge profit. Unfortunately, while tying his boat’s anchor chain around its tail, the scorpion returned to life. The chain snapped, causing his boat to drift away and cornering the small group inside the platform. Hoping that by surrounding it with fire, it would sting itself to death, Bowman and his first mate created a ring of fire around it. The monster, however, wouldn’t be put down so easily. It killed his first mate before stabbing Bowman with its deadly stinger, injecting the captain with its deadly venom. Before it could rip him apart, Tamal leaped onto its back and drove her father’s knife into its exoskeleton, stabbing directly into its brain. The arachnid fell to a heap, lifeless.
Afterward, as Skylar tended to the dying Bowman, Tamal fled the platform on a small, makeshift raft. She returned to her uncle, but she’d never be the same again. Upon locating the young girl, Skylar bore witness to small, baby scorpions emerging from her belly. In utilizing the dark arts, Tamal would become the vessel to bring about the next generation of giant sea scorpions.
