History: Residing in a series of caves along the shoreline of the underground ocean, the Dimetrodons waited for anything edible to wander by. When Professor Lindenbrook and Count Saknussem did just that, they were spotted by one of the huge creatures. Thinking quickly, the two men waded out into the water, where the reptile would not go. With its prey out of reach, the reptile moved on down the beach.
Thinking the coast was clear, Lindenbrook and Saknussem waded back to shore and ran to meet up with the rest of their group inside a cave. Unbeknownst to the humans, the Dimetrodon had merely left to alert the rest of its kind of the presence of food, so when the group dragged their raft out of the cave, they were met by several of the ravenous beasts. Grabbing one of the spears they had, Hans hurled the projectile at one of the reptiles, striking it in the shoulder. As the creature roared in pain, Hans threw a second spear, this time striking it in the mouth. The monster keeled over, stunned. Driven mad by their hunger, the rest of the Dimetrodons descended upon their wounded comrade and began to devour it. With their attackers distracted, the group of humans safely snuck by and escaped into the ocean on their raft.
