Home World: Earth
Origin: Venezuela
Type: Natural
History: In the remote reaches of the Venezuelan rainforests, a remarkable discovery was made. A new species of spiders acting in a colony much like that of ants and bees was found within the highest reaches of a large tree. Several specimens were collected, but the largest remained roaming. Upon seeing several of its army captured, the general hitched a ride back to camp upon a backpack and killed the research party’s photographer. The man’s body was carted back to the United States, but the tarantula-like arachnid had snuck into the crate! Freed from the natural restrictions that contained its empire in Venezuela, the spider found a new mate, allowing it to produce a new army.
A queen was formed and soon a horde of ravenous, eight-legged spiders spread across the landscape. By the time the truth was realized, it was too late. The general and his queen set up a new nest within the cellar of Dr. Jennings’ new home. As the spiders swarmed the household, Dr. Jennings fell from the second story and crashed through the floor. Quickly realizing he was in the nest, the man managed to kill the queen but was quickly confronted by the angry general! The creature stalked the man, avoiding his strikes and flamethrower several times. However, when it leapt upon his chest and knocked him down, he flung the frenzied arachnid into a nearby fire.
Even then, the creature refused to die! It charged out of the blaze and leaped, but Dr. Jennings reacted quickly and fired a nail gun, striking the general in mid-air and shooting it back into the alcohol-covered egg sac. The second generation of spiders was destroyed just as they hatched along with the general spider, ending the threat of the spider invasion.
