History: A distant relative of prehistoric creatures, an elusive creature found an ample food source in graveyards. Feeding on the recently departed, the beast went undiscovered for countless years. However, when it was discovered, a personal rivalry developed between former FBI agent Paul Buckner and scientist Gary ‘Hunter’ Henderson. After the rodent-like thing killed his partner after he threatened it, Buckner vowed to track it and kill it. Knowing the creature possessed a unique fluid that allowed rapid regeneration of even fatal wounds, Buckner devoted his entire life to save it from utter destruction.
The pair traced its movements across the country, each trying to reach it before the other. When both of them located it at a large cemetery outside of a small town, Hunter did his best to prevent the ruthless man from slaying it. Going as far as turning himself into bait within a coffin, Hunter’s ambitions were too high. The creature fled from him once realizing he was alive and ran directly into Buckner. The scavenger was pumped full of bullets and seemingly killed. As Hunter attacked Buckner soon after, the rodent emerged from the shallow water and attacked, dragging Buckner down.
As the bubbles stopped, Hunter returned to the surface and the wounded creature slowly followed. Groaning in pain, the animal was doomed. Coming from a hole not far away, Buckner also returned, although wounded from his encounter with it. Vowing to kill both Hunter and the animal, he was taken down by a high dose of tranquilizer. While its enemy was killed by the massive dose, the creature’s wounds were too severe. It died soon after, leaving the wary group that helped Hunter thinking about the possibility of other such creatures surviving in the dark somewhere.
