History: This massive beast is not actually one single entity, but a system of creatures that are organized into one giant. This was only possible though, because of a massive deposit of Carnotite Ore that was on the seabed floor of the Pacific Ocean. The high concentration of the substance created a force field of electromagnetic radiation in the area surrounding it. It was a field that caused havoc with a submarine’s sensitive sonar equipment. Its energy also stimulated a huge school of jellyfish’s ability to combine with each other. Much like a Portuguese man o’ war, these small, finger-size jellyfish, attached to one another and became integrated into a massive beast of everlasting hunger. Growing bigger and bigger, the giant Cnidaria soon found itself larger than even the biggest of battleships.
Its first victims would be the crew of Neptune Submarine. While Admiral Nelson and one of the crew members went out into the sea to gather some of the Carnotite ore, the monster attacked. The ship was smothered beneath the beast’s weight and eventually blew up from the crushing grasp of the animal.
Days would pass before it again slinked from the depths and attack yet another wandering submarine. This time it would be the Seaview, whom was under the command of Captain Crane at that time. Admiral Nelson was having a delusionary side effect from the drugs he was given when he was rescued from sea; after the destruction of the Neptune. Bringing the attack generators up to full charge, the ship hit the massive jellyfish with several powerful electrical charges. Even as the monster was attempting to swallow them, they kept up the attack. Eventually, the Seaview succeeded. The energy not only killed the beast, but vaporized it from existence. The menace was gone and the sea had returned to normal, for the time being.
