History: When Thomas Crowley’s wife fell ill, the man cared for her the best he could. However, as the years passed and a nurse began to regularly visit the dying woman, his pain and needs had to be answered. Thomas began an affair with his wife’s nurse. However, on the night of his wife’s passing, she put a curse on her husband and mistress, along with the unborn child growing in her womb. When Victor was born nine months later, he was covered in grotesque tumors. His appearance scared his own mother to death, leaving Thomas to care for the deformed boy.
As the child matured, he was ridiculed by others. On one fateful Halloween night, a group of youngsters approached the isolated home with hopes of seeing the deformed boy. They began to throw firecrackers at the door, accidently setting fire to it. Thomas arrived home, scaring off the children as he began to hack away at the wooden door with a hatchet, unknowing that his boy was pressed against the other side. One powerful hatchet strike broke through the wood and cracked Victor’s head. The child died and years later his father passed with a broken heart.
However, legend says that Victor Crowley’s angry spirit still roams the dark swamp. Trapped in that fateful night, Victor slaughtered anyone who ventured into his domain. Feeling no pain nor remorse, the deformed butcher killed fishermen, hunters, and tourists by the many. However, when he killed Sampson and Ainsley Dunston, Marybeth began a journey to locate her lost father and brother. She boarded an illegal haunted tour boat for tourists and traveled into the heart of Victor Crowley’s domain. When the boat was wrecked and sunk, the group was quickly picked off by the enraged spirit. One-by-one, the group was massacred.
Marybeth and Ben struggled to survive, and it seemed they had managed to defeat the spirit after impaling him, but Victor returned again. He killed Ben, but Marybeth managed to escape and seek help from the so-called “Reverend Zombie.” She was finally told the secret her father and relatives kept from her: that her father was one of the teens that killed Victor Crowley. Zombie arranged an entire posse to escort he and Marybeth back into the swamp and offered a reward to whoever could put the spirit down for good. However, secretly Zombie merely wanted to offer the undead psychopath the remaining two that had originally killed him, thinking that their death would lift Victor Crowley’s curse from the swamp.
Like before, the restless spirit began to slaughter the group. Not a soul could stand up to the juggernaut. He killed the armed men and women, including Marybeth’s uncle. Zombie’s plan had failed, the vengeful spirit remained active. He attacked the reverend, butchering the man before Marybeth attacked. With his own hatchet, she began to bludgeon his face with it until nothing was left. To make sure the killer of her family never could return again, she emptied a shotgun into the remains of his skull. Victor Crowley was seemingly killed once more. As Marybeth began to head back to civilization, the monstrous killer resurrected and attacked.
Marybeth continued to elude death by his head and forced him to fall back onto a large chainsaw, cutting his entire body into pieces. She collected his scalp and managed to make it back into town, but the police held her in custody. A first response team was dispatched to investigate and quickly found the dozens of bodies before uncovering Victory Crowley’s remains. Just as he was loaded into an ambulance boat, he returned to life. He left only one survivor that managed to escape death by hiding.
While a second team was readied, aided by a SWAT team, Marybeth was released from jail by a woman seeking to use Thomas Crowley’s ashes to send the killer back to his grave once and for all. She believed that if a relative of one of Victory’s murderers reunited him with his father, it would lift the curse. At the same time, Victor Crowley massacred all that crossed his path with no amount of physical harm seeming to faze him. When Marybeth arrived with her escorts, she was quickly the last to remain alive. Victor grabbed her and impaled her on a tree branch, but she threw urn of ashes onto the maniac. Upon contact with the ashes of his father, Victory’s flesh began to melt. As he collapsed, Marybeth fell to the ground and in her dying moments, grabbed a grenade launcher left over from the second response team. She fired, blowing Victor Crowley’s body into oblivion.
