History: Over one-hundred years ago, in the lonely town of Darkness Falls, Matilda Dixon was a friend of all children. When they would lose their baby teeth, she acted as a real life tooth fairy and visited them through the night, giving them a gold coin for the lost tooth. However, a fierce fire soon spread through her home and left her horribly burned. So badly she was burnt that her skin could no longer stand the light, thus she could only venture outside at night. To hide her scars, she wore a porcelain mask, but her love for children didn’t end. Sadly, when two children went missing, the townsfolk turned to Matilda and believed she had done something with them. They dragged her out into the sunlight, tore off her mask, and hung her! The following day, the missing children returned home without any harm done. Realizing their mistake, the town buried Matilda and their secret, but the old woman went down while placing a curse on the town. What she had taken before in kindness, she would now take in revenge. Any soul that saw her in the dark, she would kill…
For generations, Darkness Falls had its own, twisted take on the fairy tale of the tooth fairy. When young Kyle Walsh lost his last baby tooth, he saw the masked woman in his room and survived, but his mother wasn’t so lucky. Now afraid of the dark for the rest of his life, Kyle was the only person to ever see the apparition and live. However, when an old friend of his, Caitlin Greene, reached out to him about her brother Michael having the same type of night terrors, Kyle returned to Darkness Falls.
Michael had also seen the woman after losing his last baby tooth! When he returned to his hometown, the demented tooth fairy was on a total rampage, leaving bodies in her wake as she targeted both him and the young boy. When Kyle was arrested under suspicion of the mounting death toll, Matilda attacked the police station. She tricked the officers into shooting out the lights and slaughtered them one-by-one, but her main target managed to escape yet again.
She returned to the hospital, but Kyle and Caitlin managed to get the boy to safety. Fleeing the hospital, they sought shelter at the brightest thing in town: the lighthouse! Following them all the way, she attempted to cause their vehicle to crash but was driven away when a flashlight was shined in her masked face. When the small group finally reached the lighthouse, the light didn’t work thanks to a fuel line leak. However, just as Kyle managed to fix it, she appeared! Cornering the three, she was suddenly forced away when Michael pulled the switch. The light came on, horribly burning her and seemingly killing her.
However, when Kyle stood up, she descended from the shadows and grabbed him! Struggling, he accidently kicked the glass covering off the lamp and removed her mask. As the light made her burned flesh sizzle and steam, he continued to thrash about and allowed sparks from the damaged lamp to land on his arm. The fuel soaked sleeve of his shirt caught aflame and he swung out a fiery fist into the face of the demented tooth fairy! She released him as her entire body caught aflame. As the inferno tore through her body before she exploded, ending the curse forever.
