- Electric Field: When needed, Paleosaurus can generate an electric field around his body, making him invisible to sonar.
Weaknesses: None
First Appearance: The Giant Behemoth (1958)
Human Kills: Not Available
Fight Record: None
Home World: Earth
Origin: England
Type: Prehistoric / Mutant
History: In the midst of the atomic age, a nuclear bomb was tested at sea and mutated the last surviving dinosaurs in the world. Now near death as its own radiation slowly killed it, the Paleosaurus headed for the freshwater canals of Great Britain, and it stopped at nothing to get there! At first, only reports of large amounts of dead fish were the only things out of the ordinary, but soon body counts and strange burns began to rise. The authorities were stumped until the monster arose from the sea, smashing a small farm and leaving a single foot print in its wake.
The world was shocked at the disturbing news: a lone dinosaur had survived extinction, and worse yet, it was now mutated!
Now knowing what the monster was, London was sealed off with sonar, but the creature's electrical charge simply allowed it to move in with no detection. The longed-neck beast attacked a ferryboat and soon the main city just a day later. The military that moved in were powerless against its radiation, the deadly attack killing dozens within seconds! The creature moved straight through electrical power lines, pulling the structures apart with his maw before entering the Big Ben clock tower area! The ancient reptile stepped onto the bridge and after throwing a car into the river, leaned up and smashed both legs into the bridge, making it collapse under its great bulk!
Instead of returning to the city once more, the Paleosaurus continued to swim around, its body still slowly dieing from its own radiation. A small submarine took off to fire a radioactive element-tipped torpedo into the monster, hoping that adding just a bit more radiation to the creature would speed up its death. As the monster attacked the undersea ship, the torpedo was fired! The Paleosaurus howled in agony as its already radiation poisoned body was introduced to more of the lethal element, killing the monster almost immediately, but the terror was yet to be over, for across the world, reports of dead fish were being called in. The nightmare had only just begun.
