History: As the space age boomed, American scientists Dr. Quent Brady and Dan Morgan began to test the effects of space on ordinary Earth-born animals. The result was horrifying: increased size! Numeorus animals they cast into the vacuume of space would spawn offspring double, sometimes tripple, the size of their parents! In a tragic turn of events, one of their test rockets malfunctioned and flew offcourse, eventually coming down in a remote area of Africa known as Green Hell for its harsh environment.
It didn’t take long for the wasps to spawn their monstrous offspring, but their increased size prevented them from flying. While grounded, the wasps were still extremely deadly and began to attack both human and animal denizens of the area. When news of the locals being frightened by monstrous creatures, Dr. Brady and Dr. Morgan headed toward Green Hell!
When they arrived, it was deduced that Dr. Lorentz had been killed by one of the insects near an active volcano. Figuring this was the location of the Giant Wasps’ nest, the group headed out to destroy their accidental creation. Upon arriving, they spotted the building-sized insects. Chucking bombs at the beasts only enraged them and one gave chase, trapping them inside a large cave. When the group discovered a second exit, they mangaged to escape just in time for the volcano the wasps had claimed started to erupt!
Plumes of fire and rivers of boiling lava engulfed the insects, killing them in a burning holocaust! Not one wasp survived the eruption, saving Africa from being overrun by monstrous insects.
