History: He was once but a mere man, a brave lieutenant colonel in the United States armed forces. He had fought valiantly in the Korean War and his honor of duty didn’t end there. While onsite at a new plutonium bomb testing ground, Glenn Manning rushed to aid the pilot of a crashing airplane which came down as the bomb’s chain reaction had gone underway. It was too late to cancel the detonation. Before he could reach the plane, the bomb exploded! The human was exposed to tremendous amounts of radiation and every inch of his mortal body was horribly burned. It was believed he wouldn’t make it through the night.
However, when morning came, the man was all but new. His skin had regenerated, but the cause for celebration was short-lived. He began to rapidly grow, gaining several feet per day. As his fiancée, Carol, tried to keep him from falling into depression and anger, military doctors worked around the clock to find a remedy. Sadly, as the days wore on, Glenn’s heart couldn’t keep up with his new, super-sized body. The organ was growing at an accelerated rate and the larger he became, less blood reached his brain. Slowly but surely, he was becoming insane.
After an argument with his fiancée, Glenn broke free from the military complex and began wandering the wilderness, eventually finding himself in the heart of Las Vegas! Hundreds were panicked and when police opened fire against military orders, he became enraged. He trashed vehicles and signs before retreating back into the desert. He began to make his way toward Boulder Dam, but the military scientists had discovered a way to stop his growing and reverse it. They plunged a unique formula directly into his ankle’s bone marrow, causing the giant great pain and rage. He grabbed the huge needle and threw it at one of the men trying to save him, impaling the doctor and then snatching up his future wife. He carried her onto the dam where she pleaded to any humanity that might remain. She reached a part of her lover that still existed within the giant monster, but as soon as he released her, the army opened fire! The giant fell hundreds of feet from the dam and into the Colorado River, the world now believing he was dead.
The giant survived the ordeal, but was horribly scarred from the fall. He managed to flee civilization and found a new home in Mexico where he began to steal entire truckloads of food. However, when the United States government began an investigation, they quickly discovered and recaptured the colossal man. With the help of his sister Joyce, they hoped to rekindle the man’s memories but it was for naught. He escaped once, but was quickly apprehended before he could cause any serious damage.
As an island home for the oversized human was prepared, he escaped yet again. This time he went on a warpath through Los Angeles, causing severe chaos and panic wherever he went. He hoisted a bus full of children over his head, but Joyce’s cries reached him. He placed the bus down and muttered her name, his memory coming back to him. Realizing what he had become and done, the giant grabbed the nearby power lines. Countless volts of raw electricity raced into his body, killing the colossal man in a thunderous display of sparks and smoke.
