History: Prayed back into existence by ritual killings and sacrifices, Quetzalcoatl was summoned to New York City and created a nest inside the dome of the Chrysler Building. After laying an egg, the winged serpent began to move through the city each day, snatching up humans and carrying them back to its lair, but flying directly toward the sun so any human that looked up would be blinded. As days passed and the police were baffled, Jimmy Quinn, a small time crook, came across the nest as he fled the scene of a diamond heist.
Quinn led two of the crooks up to the nest afterward and soon made a deal with the police. In return for complete immunity for any crimes known and unknown, along with one-million dollars, Jimmy led a squad of police up to the creature’s dark lair. Once there, they found the beast's egg and destroyed it along with the hatching animal, but Quetzalcoatl wasn't there, Quinn's deal to get the bird on the first try ruined.
Later on, when the winged serpent returned, it was greeted by dozens of armed policeman. Shot after shot of shotguns and machine guns penetrated its reptilian hide, and after sending several of the humans to the streets thousands of feet below, the ancient monster tried to retreat. In total pain and severe lose of blood, Quetzalcoatl crashed into the top of another building. Roaring its last, the beast fell to the streets below, dead.
The culprit behind the killings that resurrected the beast was killed, but unbeknown to anyone, the winged serpent had a second nest. Hidden within an abandoned building, another egg hatched and a familiar roar challenged the city.
