Tentacle Length: Varies

- Tentacles: From any part of its body, Viper can extend long tentacles to ensnare prey.
- Liquidate: In order to feed on organisms, Viper will touch its victims, causing rapid liquidation that will be absorbed into its mass.
Weaknesses: A large enough electro-magnetic pulse is enough to cause Viper to breakdown and be unable to reform.
First Appearance: Project Viper (2001)
Human Kills: Not Available
Fight Record: None
Home World: Earth
Origin: United States
Type: Man-Made
History: It was created to live on Mars. A man-made creature that could help prepare the red planet for a future of mankind. However, the thing was too unstable. In orbit around the Earth, Viper escaped from its canister and killed the crew onboard the shuttle. Worse yet, a second Viper was stolen from the complex responsible for their creation. The pair of thieves hoped to make a fortune with the stolen Viper, but during a high-speed pursuit, a fatal crash resulted in the loss of both the suspect and Viper.
While trying to transport the second subject out of the country, something went horribly wrong. The plane crashed and, in the resulting carnage, Viper escaped! The strange creature slaughtered the last remaining thief and ventured into the surrounding countryside, growing in size every hour!
As a team hunted the bizarre Viper, it made a new home in the underground mines, feeding on lingering radiation from uranium that was mined out years prior. It began to attack locals, killing any unfortunate soul that crossed its path. As Agent Connors teamed up with the scientific minds responsible for creating the Vipers, a new fear lingered: the fear of Viper reproducing and wiping out everything on Earth!
When cornered in the jail by one of their own, responsible for planning the theft of Viper, the gooey creature rose up from the floor to attack Connors and Dr. Burnham. In the struggle, the control device was destroyed. As it slithered closer to the pair, the doors to the jail opened. The local sheriff and his deputy began to open fire. Having never been shot before, the creature fled back to its underground lair.
In order to stop the rampaging thing, an EMP bomb was prepared. As they approached the thing’s lair, Viper emerged from the water supply. Now at a truly gigantic size, the creature devoured the sheriff before he could activate the bomb. Grabbing the EMP, Connors leaped onto the back of the jeep as Burnham sped away. Activating the bomb, he tossed it into the gapping jaws of the thing. The bomb exploded shortly afterward, the powerful electro-magnetic pulse reducing Viper to useless, gray slime!
The world seemed saved, and as the rest of those involved with the conspiracy were arrested, a frightening reality set in. The shuttle Olympus was now hurtling back to Earth with the original Viper in tow. Worse yet, it was going to splashdown into the center of the Pacific Ocean, an area that the creature could rapidly grow and replicate.
