History: Millions of years ago, the last of its kind was frozen in the ice of the north pole. In battle with a massive octopus, the Mega Shark’s body was perfectly preserved for eons until being freed when experimental sonar transmitters made a pod of whales start ramming the ice. Freed from its frozen prison, the shark began to stake its claim of territory off the coast of the United States while its adversary, the Giant Octopus, headed straight for Japan!
Its hunger knew no bounds. Not even planes in the sky were safe from the beast as it launched itself from the water and dragged them down from thousands of feet up. Navy warships faired no better and were effortlessly demolished by its mighty jaws. Teaming up with the Japanese, the United States tried to lure the creature into a sort of captivity, using the San Francisco Bay as its environment. The plan, however, failed. The beast headed straight for the Golden Gate Bridge and brought it down into the dark depths before it headed straight back out to sea.
Japan faired no better and Tokyo had been devastated by the octopus. As the higher ups of the armed forces toyed with the idea of using nuclear weapons, the scientists came up with the idea of having the pair battle to the death! An armada of submarines was sent against the shark, and as it took chase, the octopus arrived, swiping them away with its huge tentacles. The battle was on! The octopus tried to coil its arms around the giant shark, but it bit off a tentacle, making the cephalopod retreat. With its enemy gone for the moment, Mega Shark took chase after the last remaining sub while the Japanese submarine, the Typhoon, opened fire. It did little to help and, while the research pod escaped its jaws, the shark snapped the submarine in half!
Soon, the octopus arrived once again and attacked the typhoon before once again challenging Mega Shark. Round two was on, and this time neither would give in. The shark tore away at tentacles and the octopus tried to strangle the huge predatory fish, and as the minutes passed, both began to weaken. The two charged one another again, but this time Mega Shark’s massive jaws clamped on its opponent’s head. With a squeal, the octopus again coiled its tentacles around the shark, refusing to let go even as it died. Weakened from its own wounds, the shark was powerless as the two of them began to sink into the dark abyss.
The battle was over, but the legacy of the Mega Shark had only just begun.
Only a year passed before the shark revealed itself to be alive and fully recovered from the battle. It attacked a battleship at sea, leaving only one survivor. The world was stunned, and as a unique team was composed to hunt down the creature, another giant was released from the Congo: the Crocosaurus!
While the huge crocodile was being transported, the shark attacked the ship, attracted to the eggs. It sunk the vessel and freed the crocodile. Following the Crocosaurus’ movements, the shark fed on her eggs. A missile strike was called in to obliterate both titans, but the attacks only enrage the pair even further. As the reptile laid more and more eggs, a plan was put into effect to lure both monsters to the Panama Canal using the crocodile’s eggs. Naturally both creatures swam in, but their ensuing battle caused a massive tidal wave that flooded the entire area. The two continued to battle, heading further out to sea where submarines prepare a nuclear strike. Before the bomb could be delivered, Mega Shark devoured the USS Carter. Now a living nuclear bomb, the shark again attacked Crocosaurus, this time just off the coast of Hawaii.
As the pair drew battle, the underwater volcano erupted! Neither beast able to escape the inferno. Still in mortal combat, both the Mega Shark and Crocosaurus were engulfed by the fiery lava. As humanity watched on, the two biggest threats to human civilization were finally destroyed.
