History: It seemed as if over the course of one night, the world was cast off into the deepest, darkest recesses of Hell itself. A nightmare beyond words was taking place; the dead were returning to life and attacking the living! No place to run, no place to hide, mankind is forced to try and band together to survive. From cemeteries to cities, the zombies hunted and stalked their prey, feeding on their flesh in armies of the dead. Philadelphia was soon hit, then the rest of the world. A decade passed and the remains of the human race was now outnumbered to nearly ten-thousand to one. Hope was lost and the last soldiers alive knew it, but not everyone believed it.
Such people survived in an underground bunker, trying with all their might to find survivors within the Florida coastline. Their plan to domesticate the creatures never saw the light of day, for like malls before them, the voracious zombies eventually got in. The last hope for mankind may have been lost that day of the dead.
The millennium came and gone, and the last remaining settlement left was Fiddler's Green, a metropolis that tried to survive the apocalypse under the rule of rich executives. Like the days passed, new groups of people remained; the rich and the poor. The soldiers that guarded the city kept it save from the zombies that run amok on the outside, but within the heart of darkness, inside the land of the dead, an evolution was starting.
The zombies were growing smarter, either by a new strand of whatever was infecting the human race or they were reviving their old memories, either way, this evolution could easily be the death of what remains of mankind. After a raid on the town where the evolution started, the zombies followed the convoy back to the city, and actually using tools, broke in.
An army of death and decay now plagued the streets, ripping down everything that the humans had made. Men, women, and children fell victim to the dead, but after taking the city, the zombies returned back to the darkness in witch they crawled out of. The human survivors made their way North, and with a bit of luck, the Northern, rocky lands may prove to be zombie-free.
