Giant Electric Eels
Length: Not Available
Mass: Not Available
Swimming Speed: Fast
Powers:
- Electric Shock: Like smaller electric eels, the Giant Electric Eels are capable of generating immense amounts of electricity with their bodies. They can use this to shock anything they touch as well as launch bolts of electricity from the lamped lures on the back of their necks.
- Electromagnetic Pulse: The Giant Electric Eels are capable of generate extremely powerful electromagnetic pulses, capable of shorting out entire submarines and underwater facilities.
- Communicating Touch: When the Giant Electric Eels touched another intelligent being, they are capable of communicating via electromagnetic pulses. This also allows them to read another being’s mind and memories.
Weaknesses: None
First Appearance: Deep Shock (2003)
Human Kills: Not Available
Fight Record: None
Home World: Earth
Origin: Arctic (Polaris Trench)
Type: Prehistoric
History: Deep underneath the ice of the arctic, an ancient race of eel-like creatures thrived. Hidden for centuries, the eels remained isolated until their powerful electrical abilities began to disturb the ice. A massive, global disaster looming, the United Nations sought to end the danger by sealing the trench that was causing the strange phenomenon. As nuclear weapons were prepared, numerous objects appeared on sonar. The eels brought down the warheads before detonation and attacked the Hubris research station, sending vast amounts of electricity through the structure.
As systems were shorted, the men and women onboard were slaughtered. A new team was dispatched to study the situation as submarines from numerous nations descended upon the trench with an arsenal of nuclear torpedoes. The highly intelligent eels began to communicate with the humans, using their computers and electromagnetic pulses to do so. Trying to launch a probe into the trench resulted in the creatures making another attack, destroying the smaller submersible. When a torpedo was launched, one of the eels guided it toward the research station, severely damaging the facility.
Soon the armada of submarines arrived, launching dozens of nuclear warheads shielded from their electrical pulses. As two of the scientists continued to communicate with the creatures via an onboard computer on one of the smaller submersibles, the eels made a full counterattack. They began to flood and surge electricity through the Hubris station, learning the plan that was constructed to lure them away from the trench so the torpedoes could strike.
As the Polaris trench was sealed by the assault, the Hubris began to sink. The gigantic eels took a new home within the sunken facility. In time, a peace could be made between mankind and the newly awoken, highly intelligent species.
