History: Millions of years ago ago, a race of bird-like creatures ruled the Earth until a single creature rose up to slaughter everything before it. Driven insane, the Garuda massacred many of its brethren before being captured and imprisoned, left to die in its own wasteland. In 2005, as Bangkok began the second phase of constructing its subway system, the workers soon came across rock that, once broken through, revealed a gigantic cave system underneath the city! Wanting to keep the system and its fossilized remains of winged creatures a secret from the rest of the world, a ragtag group of Thai soldiers moved in cleanup.
Inside the system, the squad came across the remains of the magnificent winged beast. Leena, an archaeologist whom had been trying to prove the existence of the creatures for most of her life, soon bore witness to the revived creature after the soldiers accidentally awoke it. The beast began to snatch the soldiers in the dark with their gunfire having no affect against it.
With the cave system now flooded with water after a failed trap, Tan and Leena were forced to sit aside their different beliefs and try and work together and put the bird-like beast back to rest. Along with Leena’s assistant Tim, the group managed to find their way to the nearest subway station, but the Garuda wasn’t far behind.
It killed another team before breaking out into the city, killing Tim in the process. With a flap of its majestic wings, the Garuda had taken to the air! Its cries spread through the streets as it began its assault on Bangkok. Panic quickly gripped the city’s residents as it snatched people and cars from the ground. When shot at it with a missile, the Garuda guided the explosive to strike its own firers, once again proving it was too smart to be tricked.
The creature then landed on the roof of a building where Tan and Leena watched on. The Taiwan soldier unleashed several shots into its wings, damaging it. Enraged, the Garuda tore off its wounded wing before charging the pair. It knocked her off the building, but Tan caught her arm just as she fell. Without its wing, the Garuda fell downward, but managed to stab its claws into the cement walls of the structure. As Tan lifted Leena up from the edge, he fired a single round into Garuda’s skull. The bullet blasted it from the side of the building and sent it falling down into the unforgiving ground, ending its centuries’ worth of life once and for all.
