History: Throughout time, there have been countless mass extinctions and disappearances. From the extinction event of the dinosaurs to Roanoke Island, there has been only one culprit. A creature thought to be impossible, but alive and theorized by the brilliant Dr. Timothy Flyte. The creature would become active every handful of centuries and would wipe out entire civilizations such as the Mayans. During its most recent awakening, the mass devoured the population of Snowfield, Colorado where its victims believed it was the devil. It gained the concept of the devil from those it absorbed and thus that it was it came to believe it was.
The natural side of the entity was turned into a sadist whom tortured his victims before consumption. Leaving dead bodies and pieces hidden everywhere, it’s Phantoms returned to the mass underground. Soon a small collection of individuals arrived at Snowfield: a handful of policemen headed by Sheriff Bryce Hammond and two sisters Lisa and Jennifer Paige whom were visiting family.
As the group tried to figure out what was happening, the entity began to toy with them. It began to cut power and create fake screams in order to bring them into a panic. Bryce lead the group into an empty hotel, but even here it continued to play with the group as they discovered the name Timothy Flyte and Ancient Enemy written with lipstick on a mirror inside a locked, windowless room. It tricked one of the deputies to rush outside where something suddenly snatched him up. Now with only four remaining, the Sheriff managed to reach the outside world and call in help from government authorities. After breaking the communications, the creature finally revealed one of its Phantoms to the group. Appearing at the window as a gigantic moth-like insect, it withstood a barrage of gunfire before flying into the room and latching onto Deputy Wargle’s face! In mere seconds the thing devoured his entire face and brains before flying back outside.
As the group held up, the government began to get to work and enlisted the help of Dr. Timothy Flyte. The creature began to play with the remaining three even more, even attempting to rape Lisa with a Phantom of Wargle. After discovering the deputy’s body vanished from a locked room also, the sounds of a helecopter passing over rang loudly. The reinforcements had arrived!
An aramada of scientists and soldiers arrived at the site to study and stop the creature that Dr. Flyte had dubbed the Ancient Enemy! The town was completely quarentined as teams moved in. Teams began to sweep across the town, examining every house and discovering remains of victims and others left completely intact, but blood replaced with a strange black fluid.
As Dr. Flyte and a squad of soldiers entered the local church and found the priest, completely preserved and put aside for later, much like a spider would do a fly. As the creature began to toy with other groups and pick them off one by one, a lone dog appeared before Flyte and his squad. As one of the scietists patted the dog, the animal began to change! Gigantic spikes and tentacles lashed out, attacking the scientists. As soldier began to fire away with his weapon, another tentacle lashed him across the church, ending his life also.
The Ancient Enemy possessed the bodies it had just killed and allowed Flyte to live, instructing him to tell the world of its existence. As Dr. Flyte returned back to the portable lab, the enemy attacked and took over the General. It gave the scientists a small piece of itself in the shape of a lizard for him to study. The small piece soon dissolved into a black fluid as Dr. Flyte began to examine it.
It took hours, but the man began to understand just what it was. While the creature believed it was the devil, it was simply an animal. It had absorbed the concept of religion and the devil from victims, allowing it to believe that’s what it was. While it continued to play with the lab, it sent forth its drones to the military camp outside the town, slaughtering all of those that dared opposed it.
As they ran samples of the creature through analyzers, it was discovered it shared the same chemical compounds of crude oil. Thus, the group finally found a way to stop it. The lab they were trapped in had samples of nearly every bactria, including advanced oil-eating bacteria! They still had one problem: to deliver the bacteria to the main mass, not just the small, expendable Phantoms! Walking outside, Dr. Flyte began to plea to the creature to show itself, even telling the entity that the people inside were trying to kill it, having not the understanding of its godlyness. Taking joy from the man’s words, the creature summoned hundreds of Phantoms before rising from the ground! A towering creature of unbelievable size, it looked down at the lab as the the sheriff and sisters emerged, firing the bacteria at the creature. As it roared aloud, the monster slammed back down to Earth with Bryce following it in the darknss.
To get payback, it sent a Phantom of Wargle after the sisters. They fled from the creature as they fired away, managing to blow off its legs. As tentacles sprouted from its lower section, the sisters took shelter in the attic. The creature didn’t give up, but the bacteria fired into it had infected every part of the the Ancient Enemy, including the Wargle clone. As it burst from the boards, Jenny shot his head off, but it was far from dead! As it grabbed Lisa, Jenny fired another shot at the thing, this time tipped with the bacteria. The bacteria quickly began to dissolve the Phantom, allowing them to escape.
In the sewers, however, Sheriff Bryce continued to track the fleeing creature. It appeared before the Sheriff in the form of a small boy that he had accidently killed in the past. Throwing him aside, it picked up the containers of bacteria. As it continued to mock the man, Bryce struck the containers with another round. The bacteria sprayed across the creature’s body, destroying it once and for all!
But while it was stopped, the monster still won. It wanted Dr. Timothy Flyte to tell the world, and that’s exactly what he planned to do. Appearing on television shows, the scientist’s words reached the ears of the last remaining piece of th Ancient Enemy: a lone Phantom in the shape of Deputy Wargle.
