History: On a trip to Africa to study an ancient tribe, Dr. Whitney drank a special fluid that the tribe made. The drink was made of a special plant that was home to a type of bacteria that would transform the man into a huge beast, and also force him to feed on the type of protein that the plant produces. When sending the shipment of plants back, Whitney eventually realized this, and tried to retrieve the plants but was denied by the ship's captain. Angered, and knew he'd need the proteins, the man snuck aboard the ship, and eventually changed. The beast that he transformed into killed the entire crew, and fed on the part of the brain that contains the same protein.
The Kothoga moved through underground tunnels until it took a home underneath the Chicago museum, just a short while after the museum received the crates filled with the plants, in which they burned. Upon detecting the murder, the wrong man was shot and killed, and the massive opening of the superstitious area of the museum was opened.
The creature made its way through the tunnels, eventually feeding on cops and a dog. It eventually made it's way directly toward the crowd, and once it did, all chaos broke loose. A stampede of people rushed for the doors, knocking displays off and setting off all security programs, including the steel doors.
The beast then took down the two officers sanctioned at the control room, and headed toward the main museum, and the people trapped decided to form two teams. One would stay at the museum, the other would head for the sewers where they could escape from.
The creature began to stalk the area around the museum, eventually coming across Lt. D'Agosta and Dr. Green. It rammed the doors, but failed to get in. It busted itself open, allowing for the two scientists and cop to get blood samples. D'Agosta and Green headed back for the labs, while the other scientist, Dr. Frock stayed behind, unable to get up the stairs because of his wheel chair.
The outside was buzzing with police and news, all trying to find a way inside. As a team began to burn their way through the steel doors, the Kothoga began its first strike against the people. The ones stuck inside the museum were quickly picked off one at a time, pistol rounds doing little more than making the monster angry.
A squad of police tried to break through the glass windows on the ceiling, but the first one was quickly killed when the Kothoga leaped on him from below. The second one panicked when he saw the creature, and fell. He tried to run, but the Kothoga charged forward, eventually grabbing the man and ripping his head off. The third almost made it back to the top, but the creature began to climb the walls, and bit the guy in two.
The Kothoga returned to the back sections, and killed Dr. Frock, who trapped himself in a storage area, and then began to follow the people in the sewers. D'Agosta and Green came up with their own plan to stop the killing monster by freezing it. Before they arrived, the Kothoga attacked the moving people, killing a few.
The fleeing people managed to survive and escape the sewers as D'Agosta and Dr. Green fended off the creature, but the plan failed, and the monster was not stopped. The pair ran back to the museum, D'Agosta ordering Green into a steel door locked labs. The creature though, made its way around the lab, and broke through the glass ceiling just as Green found out whom it was: Dr. Whitney.
Green ran through the labs with the Kothoga following behind her. The creature's massive build tore through the walls and doors. As she ran, she pushed bottles and jars of chemicals and acids onto the floor, and stopped to quickly make a sort of home made explosive. Once it caught up to her, she clicked the elevator button. Just before it was about to kill her, the elevator arrived, and she threw the jar of chemicals. The chemicals mixed and reacted, causing a wall of fire to engulf the labs. As she left the elevator, the Kothoga ran down the stairs, it's complete body engulfed in fire. Dr. Green climbed into one of the specimen chambers and closed the top, just as the Kothoga was about to get in. The explosion soon filled the lab, and washed over the beast, reducing it to hundreds of pieces.
