History: After a court order prevented the movement of nuclear waste through the streets of Manhattan, the dangerous substances were stored beneath the streets of the city in the sewers, thought to be harmless. As time passed, the homeless people whom lived beneath the streets began to come in contact with the toxic waste and slowly began to mutate into fearsome, gruesome monsters. These C.H.U.D.s, or cannibalistic humanoid underground dwellers, fed mainly at night, snatching up humans around the manholes of the city. When one of the creatures finally reached the surface, it was killed by a gas leak, but its body showed the authorities just what was happening and what was causing the mass disappearances.
A team armed with flamethrowers and cameras was sent down into the sewers to find any more of the mutations, and that they did. The police armed with flamethrowers began to unleash fire upon the mutations, but the creatures waded through the inferno, completely slaughtering the group.
Days later, as gas lines were prepped to be opened and the gases released into the sewers, George Cooper and A.J. Shepherd got trapped beneath the streets and were forced to run for their lives from the hideous mutations. As time passed, the C.H.U.D.s emerged from their underground homes and attacked a local diner, feeding on the humans inside before returning to the sewers once more. Another one of the monsters entered the apartment complex that George Cooper's wife, Lauren was left alone in.
The monster made its attack, first killing two police offers whom Lauren summoned mere minutes prior to check out a mangled dog in the basement. The monster then moved upward, pushing its way through her small barricade she formed in front of her door. The girl ran into her husband's dark room and hid on the top shelf, throwing chemicals on the creature when it spotted her. As the beast reeled in pain, it gave her enough time to escape and grab one of the decorative swords on the wall. The mutation smashed its way through the wall of the home, and upon seeing the girl, began to stretch its neck out, giving her ample time to swing the sharp blade down and decapitating the monster!
As gas began to flood the sewers, George and A.J. managed to escape through an open manhole, but when Wilson, a worker for the N.R.A. tasked with keeping the underground nuclear waste a secret, tried to rundown the pair, A.J. managed to shoot through the oncoming van's windshield, killing him on sight. The van slowly moved toward the manhole, the vehicle causing a spark that ignited the flammable gas. A fireball tore through the sewers, killing the flesh-eating monstrosities underneath the city.
