History: Seth Brundle, one of the most brilliant minds on the planet, was working on the greatest invention ever known to mankind: teleportation. After years of work and failed tests, he came together with a journalist named Veronica Quaife, whom helped him uncover the solution to teleporting living flesh. Upon testing it on himself, a fly entered the telepod he was inside and the computer got confused. Fixing the problem, the computer turned itself into gene-splicer and combined both of them at a molecular level, forming a new kind of life.
Over the next few weeks, Seth slowly began to change. Growing strange hairs and loosing his mind, he slowly came to realization of what happened. He sought to dilute the fly’s genes with more human DNA, at the same time Veronica discovered she was pregnant with his child. When he discovered that she was going to abort it, fearing that it could be a mutant like he, Seth completely lost his mind.
Breaking into the hospital, he kidnapped Veronica and took her back to his home. Her ex-boyfriend Stathis Borans came to her rescue, but Seth attacked him. He dissolved the man’s hand and foot with acid vomit. Taking hold of Veronica, he announced his final plan to his former lover: to fuse himself, her, and their unborn child into one body to form the ultimate family!
Horrified, she fought back and ripped off his lower jaw! This caused an accelerated change in his body. As he continued to drag her toward the telepods, his body began to fall apart. Turning into the final stage of the so-called Brundlefly, he threw her into the first telepod and entered the second. As the sequence began to countdown, Stathis recovered and used his shotgun to sever the cables from Veronica’s telepod.
Enraged, the hybrid began to smash through the glass, but it was too late. As the door opened, the teleporter activated. It transported Brundle and parts of the telepod to the third container, fusing them together. As the doors opened, he fell through the white mist in pain, chunks of telepod stuck through his body. Grabbing Stathis’ gun, Veronica pointed the barrel at Brundle’s head. Unable to pull the trigger, she watched as he gripped the weapon with his claw and lifted it up to his head again.
Crying, she finally pulled the trigger, blowing Brundle’s head off his shoulders. The nightmare was over, but within Veronica’s body, a new nightmare grew.
