History: Carmine Oil believed that it had found a solution that allowed defunct rigs to be decommissioned at a fraction of the cost. By developing an enzyme that fed on the prevalent harmful commodities, the company could safely dispose of the man-made machines. When the alpha rig’s time was up, the company sent in a cleanup crew armed with the new cleaner solution.
The company’s executive scientist that had been heading the enzyme’s creation ordered the rig be completely doused in the solution. By the time Dr. Hansen arrived, the cleaner had already been applied with far too much solution. A strain of parasitic organisms, which had been feasting on a dead cat in the rig, reacted to the chemical, mutating into massive monstrosities!
Moving through the rig, the worms picked off the cleanup crew as well as the newly arrived Green Earth members whom came to take over the rig. The environmentalists were forced to join forces with the crew in order to survive, but the creatures were remorseless. They tore apart nearly everyone in a gruesome bloodbath, leaving only Dr. Hansen, Jacobs, and Mickey, the leader of the environmentalists, alive.
Struggling to return power to the rig, Mickey was attacked by one of the worm-like beasts. Grabbing a sparking cable, he electrocuted the creature. The intense energy caused its body to burst into flames and fall, landing amidst a group of oil barrels. The barrels quickly exploded, triggering numerous blasts across the rig. As Dr. Hansen and Mickey escaped, Jacobs was beheaded by one of the vicious killers.
As Dr. Hansen once again joined the radical environmentalists and exposed the atrocities of the company, a second crew arrived on the ruins of the rig, but they weren’t there for cleanup. They began collecting specimens of the mutated creatures for further research and development.
