History: After a large asteroid smashed into the moon, the skies of New Mexico were littered with meteors. Visiting the mountains with his girlfriend, Paul Carlson was hit in the head by one of moon rocks. The fragment was imbedded in his brain and the next night, as the moon shined brightly above, Paul began to change. His skin was replaced by scales, his mouth elongated into a tooth-filled snout, and his hands grew razor-sharp claws. The Moon Beast, a creature of Native American legend, was reborn in the modern world! The first death came at a local home where the beast slashed a drunk to pieces and caused his wife to have a heart attack at the sheer sight of him!
After the carnage, Paul returned to his home and awoke with no memory of the death and destruction he had caused. The next day went much like the last as Paul began to feel sick and tired until the night came. Once more, with the moon high above, the Moon Beast replaced Paul's mind and body. The creature attacked three campers and managed to kill two before the moon fell and Paul returned home, but this time fell asleep outside. After going to a doctor, Paul and his good friend Johnny Salinas discovered that a piece of meteor was now embedded in his brain.
Going back to myth, it was discovered that more of the creatures once plagued the area before the land was populated by the white man. Now knowing what he is, Paul was strapped down and restrained when the moon rose high. Restrained and unable to kill, the Moon Beast returned back to Paul the next morning. A plan was made to surgically remove the meteor piece from his brain, but by now the fragment was disintegrated and the energy left was now coursing through his body. With no way to remove the energy, the fate of Paul was destined to death as the threat of an unstable breakdown was realized. Now wanting to kill himself, Paul ventured into town, looking for any means to do so, but wasn't able to get a gun and failed at multiple suicide attempts.
The Moon Beast returned one last time as darkness crept upon the land. Trying to save his girlfriend, Paul was transformed into the reptilian fiend, but left his love alive. Instead he went after the police that were chasing him and began to attack them. Before the beast could kill any more, Johnny hit the creature with an arrow fashioned out of the meteor. With the stone entering his body, the energy in his build was overloaded and the Moon Beast, along with Paul, was reduced to nothing more than ash.
