Home World: Earth
Origin: United States
Type: Mutant
History: Beneath a small suburban community, leaky drums of toxic waste sat around for decades. The chemicals polluted the water supply and directly affected the local species of black slug. The invertebrates began to grow to tremendous size of their kind, but most importantly, transformed into blood thirsty monsters. Hungry for warm flesh, the slugs began to travel in huge groups, ambushing unsuspecting victims in the dark of night. As mysterious deaths continued to amount, only a few actually believed in the rumors spreading about killer slugs.
When one’s man suddenly began erupting with worms during a fancy dinner party, the collected creatures were discovered to be mutant parasites normally found within slugs. Realizing what he feared was true, public health investigator Mike Brady tracked the origins of the new species to the sewer systems. He and another ventured into the labyrinths to put an end to the slugs once and for all, but nobody could have predicted the sheer vastness of the slugs’ numbers. They were overwhelmed and forced to find a new exit as the slugs began to cover the walkways. Upon opening a hatch, a tremendous wave of water swept Brady’s comrade into the nesting waters. The man was quickly devoured alive as Mike began to climb up the manhole. Once reaching the top, he began to dump a highly combustible chemical into the sewers. Upon making contact with the water, the chemical exploded, engulfing the hordes of black slugs in a blanket of fire! The killers were quickly reduced to nothing but ash and soot, but as authorities left, one lone slug remained, able to reproduce a-sexually and spawn a new generation of predatory slugs.
