Tripods
Height: Not Available
Mass: Not Available
Powers:
- Energy Beam: The tripods can launch a beam of pure energy from two of the tentacles mounted on their bodies. This beam is specifically designed to burn living organisms to ash.
- Shield: Keeping the tripods safe, the alien invaders equipped them with an invisible energy shield that can block all forms of projectiles from hitting the tripods.
- Tentacles: On the lower parts of their heads, the tripods are armed with many tentacles in which they can use to bring targets and objects into the cages. One tentacle tipped with a blade-like object can also be extended from the body. The blade of this tentacle acts like a vacuum pump and can suck the fluids from a victim’s body, allowing the processing of the alien weed the invaders use to terraform planets.
Weaknesses: None
First Appearance: War of the Worlds (2005)
Human Kills: Not Available
Fight Record: None
Home World: Not Available
Type: Alien
History: From a distant world across the gulf of space, vast intelligences viewed the Earth with envious eyes. Before the time of man, they visited and planted the seeds of their invasion force. When the planet reached the apex of readiness, they returned. However, the species known as humanity had spread like cockroaches. Arriving in fierce electrical storms that killed most forms of electronics for hundreds of miles, the invaders activated the machines they had buried eons ago. Across the entire world, the tripods began to emerge from the depths of the Earth!
The Ukraine was hit first, and then the eastern coast of the United States. Humanity began to fight back with all they had, but gunfire and rockets couldn’t get past their shields. All explosives prematurely detonated before striking the alien machines. The invaders began to exterminate the human race while terraforming the planet, using the very blood of captured people to cultivate a red weed that spread across the land. However, mere days into their invasion, the hostiles constructed their very demise when they breathed Earth’s air and drank Earth’s water.
At the cost of over a billion human lives, microscopic organisms spelled the doom of the aliens. Unable to cope with the billions of forms of bacteria, the extraterrestrials began to die in their machines. Without pilots, the weapons began to weaken. Their shields began to drop, allowing pockets of armed forces to bring them down. Across the globe, the tripods began to fall. The war was over, leaving humanity to pick up the pieces of its civilization and begin reconstruction. They had earned their right to populate the planet.
