History: At the height of the Vietnam War, the United States developed a lethal strain of piranha under Operation Razorteeth. The man-eating fish were ready to be deployed and feed on the enemies of freedom, but the war suddenly ended before they could be unleashed. The aquatic killers were slated to be poisoned, but they survived the execution and were tended for years by Dr. Robert Hoak. After years, the security of the mountain complex vanished, leaving the man alone to continue his work with the voracious piranha.
However, when two teenagers broke into the pool for some midnight fun, a bloody nightmare quickly unfolded. The fish devoured the young lovers, causing investigators to stumble across the isolated fish hatchery. After finding the clothes of the teens, Maggie decided to drain the pool. Despite Dr. Hoak’s interference, the water was purged and the fish released into the river! In no less than a day, the aquatic predators began to feed on anything in the water. While rescuing a stranded boy on a sinking canoe, Dr. Hoak was attacked and mortally injured by the ferocious carnivores. Just before he could tell the pair of investigators how to stop the school of piranha, the man succumbed to his wounds and died.
With dozens of more innocent lives in the path of the piranha should the dam be flooded, the two rushed to the structure. However, the fish began to attack the makeshift raft, biting at the logs and ropes until it fell apart. The three reached the shore just in time while Grogan managed to stop the opening of the spillway and call in the military to contain the dreadful fish. They began to poison the waters, but the fish had long been immune to such tactics. The creatures found a way around the dam and continued downstream, eventually reaching the summer camp! In the bloody carnage, numerous children and counselors were either injured or killed.
With nothing to stop them, the piranha continued on their path and attacked a luxurious water park and resort. Fearing what could happen if the piranha reached the ocean, Grogan put the task of destroying them upon himself. Tying a rope to himself, he began to release chemical waste from smelting vats into the river. Just as the piranha began to attack, he managed to open the valves. Maggie gunned the speedboat, pulling the brave man from the angry school of fish. Hundreds of gallons of chemical waste flooded the waters, hopefully killing off the genetically engineered piranha.
